Archie Boulet

Archie Boulet has been involved with golf on numerous levels. He was an excellent player who competed regularly in state and regional events. He also operated a course himself, the facility that is now New England Country Club.

Still, he reached Hall of Fame status for his long and distinguished career as the Bryant golf coach.

Boulet founded the program himself, organizing it and running it from the time Bryant was a small school on the east side of Providence to the time it moved to its beautiful campus in Smithfield. He was the only coach the program had for 47 years until his retirement earlier this year.

While he is staying on as coach emeritus for the Bulldogs, his legacy will live on forever. His teams became the dominant Division II program in New England and one of the most successful in the country.

Among his achievements: His program won 11 New England Division II titles and made 31 NCAA tournament appearances. Twenty times his teams finished in the top 20 at the Division IIU nationals. His teams produced 23 Division II All-Americans, seven New England Players of the Year, one ECAC All-divisions crown and four New England all-division championships. Twenty-four of his players went on to work as head or assistant pros at courses across the country.
