Barbara Davis
Barbara Davis won the R.I. Women’s Golf Association title five times, including three in a row beginning in 1934. She captured the Wannamoisett women’s championship 13 years in a row and also won the RIGA Mixed Championship with Stan Koslowski in 1946.
She won the Endicott Cup, the tournament that brings together the best players from Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, three times.
Davis and her husband, Fred, lived directly across the street (adjacent to the fourth tee) at Wannamoisett.
Barbara Davis became so enthused with the game that the family had an area in their basement redone, making it big enough so that Barbara could take full swings and hit into a net in her own home.
