Women's Championships

The RIGA conducts over 26 Women's Events. There are four major championships, 17 weekly play dates, 2 Mixed Tournaments and five weeks of Team Matches. In addition, there are three affiliated regional events members will be eligible to participate.

*2025 Withdrawal Policy*

If you withdraw from an event before the registration deadline, there will be a $5 transaction fee. Therefore, if you paid $80, $160 or $320 for registration and then decide to cancel before registration closes you will receive a refund of $75, $155, or $315 respectively.

If you withdraw from an event after the registration deadline, there will be no refunds given.

However, if you find a substitute to fill the empty spot on your team, then you may substitute that person(s) and work out payment between players.

I will always do my best to help you find someone that may want to play but please keep in mind; this is not a guarantee.

Eligibility: Amateur golfers who are RIGA members and have a membership with a RIGA member club.
 
Tournament Format:
April 21, 2025 - The Aquidneck Club

Four Person Sign-up. 
Players will play to 100% of their handicap.
 
Tee times begin at 8:00
There will be a gross and net division.
 
Maximum handicap a player may use is 36. 
Handicaps used will be April 18, 2025

There will be a 10 stroke max between partners. The higher handicap would be reduced.

Newport CC - May 6, 2025

 

Eligibility: Amateur golfers who have an active RIGA/GHIN handicap and are RIGA Members.
 
Tournament Format:
May 6, 2025 - Newport CC

Two player sign-up.
Players will play to 100% of their handicap.

Roster will be selected on April 2, 2025 - Pairing requests will be accepted beginning April 3, 2025

 

Format:  Chapman System works like this:

  • Both golfers on a side play their drives.
  • For the second strokes, each plays the other's drive. Golfer A goes to Golfer B's ball, and Golfer B goes to Golfer A's ball.
  • After the second strokes, one ball is selected to continue with, and that ball is played alternate shot into the hole.
  • The golfer whose second stroke was not selected is the one who plays the third stroke.

Match Play, both individual & Four Ball
- Match Play - with each hole worth 1 point for the win, 1/2 point if it's halved & 0 points for the loss hole.
- Fourball match, the format is better ball of partners, using the same points for scoring.
In each match, the total score of both players should add up to 18 points.
